Willie Revillame’s upcoming show on TV5 entitled “Willing Willie” airing on October 23 may be put on hold as ABS-CBN Corporation files a petition in the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) and a writ of preliminary injunction to stop the former “from committing further violations to his contract with the network.”
The 38-page petition contains ABS-CBN’s appeal to the court to restrain Revillame from creating or performing work in companies that are direct competitors of ABS-CBN. It also asked the court to stop the TV host “from engaging in activities which are adverse to the interests of ABS-CBN.”
The issue between ABS-CBN and Revillame started when the later threatened the ABS-CBN management during the May 4 episode of “Wowowee” with a resignation if management does not fire Jobert Sucaldito, another artist of the network as seen in the following video:
He was later sanctioned by the management with a temporary suspension which was later countered by Revillame with a move to rescind his contract with the network.
Their case regarding the contract rescission is still in court.
The Philippine Women’s University (PWU) recently recognized Boy Abunda, a well-known TV host and talent manager in the Philippines, as an Outstanding Teacher.
Abunda started teaching Mass Communication students in PWU in June and he was happy and proud to be part of the outstanding circle of teachers in the university. He said that the fulfillment he felt for the award was different from what he felt when he received his numerous awards as a talk show host.
The King of Talk mentioned that teaching is a noble job and something he’d like to do long after he have quit broadcast but although he is open to the idea of leaving the entertainment industry to teach full time, he won’t do it anytime soon.
Abunda extends his heartfelt gratitude to PWU and acknowledges his fortune of having an excellent batch of students who learn with him throughout the process.
