Recently, United States commemorated the 10th anniversary of the the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001. These were horrific attacks especially considering over 3,000 people lost their lives that day.
One life was that of a friend. She had just migrated to USA with her family. Her husband found work as a legal consultant to an accounting firm in New York while she found a job as a saleslady in a specialty shop in Madison Avenue. Her death came as a shock to her family. Why was she at the Twin Towers when she was supposed to be at the Avenue? Well, September 11 was her day-off and she visited a friend in the WTC.
Terrorism still is a threat to the civilized world. That incident on September 11, 2001 was a tragic radical terror attack. There was no precedent like that before although that is not the only terrorist attack in history. Terrorism has existed in the world for quite a long time.
We never know when the perpetrators would strike again and in what place. We could only hope that whatever plans they hatch would be discovered and aborted because terrorism creates terror and fear in the minds of people and will jeopardize the safety of non-combatants called civilians.
The intelligence bureau has indeed a herculean job at hand.
