I love eating but the problem is, I’m not a good cook. Unlike some “natural” cooks who can experiment with spices and ingredients to get the taste that they want, I need a recipe every time I cook so that I won’t come up with a disastrous dish.
Though I prefer to eat out, there are, of course, times when I want to experiment with cooking too – just for the sake of having some “woman skills” that would prepare me for the responsibilities of a wife and mother someday. I prefer cooking dishes with foreign sounding names because the name makes it sound like an exotic specialty dish.
Today, I tried cooking the vegetable moussaka. Most of the ingredients are easy to find like potatoes, onions, mushrooms, garlic, tomatoes, flour, egg and milk but I had to go to the supermarket for the lentils and aubergine (which are colored eggplants).
Vegetable moussaka is fairly easy to prepare. This a Greek recipe can be prepared in about 45 minutes and can be served as the main dish.
So far, I think that the dish that I came up with tastes good. I am still not comfortable sharing what I cook with others but if ever a few friends will drop by unexpectedly at home, I am comfortable that they will like this one when I’ll cook this for them.
