Last week, I was on a trip and it was only today that I finally had the time to drop by my mailbox here in our community. I wasn’t surprise to find an assortment of various mails: a postcard from a friend, credit card statements, different flyers and brochures and product offer mails from some obscure company.
Seems like the cost of flyer and brochure printing is quite cheap these days. I’m not exaggerating but for just a week, the leaflets, flyers and brochures that accumulated in my mailbox are almost as thick as an inch already.
Well, there are times when I scour over these offers and use some discount codes when I order some pizza delivery here at home or to clip some coupons for discounts on lipstick and other beauty stuff but those are just rare moments. Most of the time, these stuff goes directly to my waste bins.
It doesn’t bother me a bit that these unsolicited mails remain unread – but I do care for all those trees that were cut down just to create these unwanted stuff. Internet is the big thing these days. Instead of wasting those precious trees to print unwanted flyers and stuff, they should just post their discount codes on websites because that’s where people usually go to when they want some deals. Or maybe they should allow people to opt-out of these unwanted junk.
