Beauty with a purpose, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, is currently in the Philippines to help survivors of the supertyphoon, Haiyan (or Yolanda in the Philippines).
According to reports, Megan Young was able to raise $26,000 from her US visit, about $100,000 in Hong Kong (with the help of Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu), and more than $80,000 in Jakarta.
After arriving from Hong Kong via a Cathay Pacific flight, Young went to the Philippine Red Cross office where she was briefed by Chairman Richard Gordon about the relief operations in the Visayas. She also gave the money that she raised to the Philippine Red Cross.
Aside from helping pack the relief goods, Young will be visiting the affected areas. Her itinerary includes visiting Cebu, Basey, Western Samar, Tacloban and Tanauan on November 29 and for November 30, she will be In Ormoc and Panay.
